The Creation Quest

February 13, 2012

For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.

There are two essential thoughts; either God exists or God doesn’t exist. If we believe that God exists then we must live as if God exists. Sadly, even Christians live as though their own words are the final authority instead of God’s word. They live by no set standards instead of the word of God being their standard. The God we worship can’t be the God that we have created in our minds but the God we discover through His word. If you go on reading in Romans you see that there were those that even though they were aware of the greatness of God, they still gave their minds over to futile thinking. The same can be said of us today. To see God, as Paul is saying in Romans, we simply go back to the beginning…

The best selling, most translated book in the world is the Bible. The Bible has been translated into over 2,000 languages. He stood up and apologized for stopping the woman on such an important mission and let her go. Now this may be true, it may not be, but regardless it’s a pretty creative excuse! Vision 2012

January 9, 2012

This is why I remind you to keep using the gift God gave you when I laid my hands on you. Now let it grow, as a small flame grows into a fire. God did not give us a spirit that makes us afraid but a spirit of power and love and self-control. 2 Timothy 1:6-7 (NCV)

Jesus has the power of God, by which he has given us everything we need to live and to serve God. We have these things because we know him. Jesus called us by his glory and goodness. 2 Peter 1:3 (NCV)

Missionary Hudson Taylor made the statement, “God’s work in God’s way will never lack from Gods supply.” We believe that the local church is God’s tool for hope in the world. Obviously the grace of Christ is that hope, but we are God’s tool for delivering that hope. God has a kingdom assignment for you.  God has strengthened you and empowered you to fulfill that assignment. Just as Christ does, we want you to believe in God’s love and His gospel enough to give your life to it. We want you to be a part of Team Bethel, a small part of God’s team. Read more…
